Performance is a key component with the students participating in recitals, concerts and competitions. Western Vocal Class typically focuses on developing vocal techniques, musicality and performance skills. Students learn techniques such as breathing control, pitch, tonality and vocal range. The class covers genres which includes Classical, Jazz, Pop, and various other styles. Instructors guide students through vocal exercises to improve their range, flexibility and control over their voice. For those interested in contemporary styles, Western vocal classes may embrace elements of jazz, blues and pop. Students may work on stylistic representation of popular songs, improvisation and develop their own unique style.
